The Rev. Jeremiah Wright blew through Dallas over the weekend and was given a new first name by the local media:  “Controversial.” As in, “Barack Obama’s former pastor, the controversial Jeremiah Wright...” All this after his talk with Bill Moyers, where the Rev. basically threw Obama under the bus by brushing off Obama’s distancing himself from Wright’s YouTube rants as something that politicians just do.  I’m with Bill Maher on this one: Obama never threw Wright to the wolves, but Wright sure had no problem flipping Obama off, did he?  I’d never, ever tell anyone to shut the fuck up, but the Rev. needs to do just that - his mouth gets him in a lot of hot water, doesn’t it?  For someone who makes a living at speaking, he sucks at it. 

Howard Dean says either Clinton or Obama must drop out of the race in June.  Well, duh.  All the primary/caucus voting will be done by then, so it only makes sense.  Can we please just STFU about it until then?  Fer crying out loud, everybody keeps saying we need to let the process play out, and then they get all agitated because it can’t come soon enough. 

Due to all the lies being spewed by military analysts on the airwaves, the Pentagon has just now decided to stop briefing them on Iraq, Afghanistan, the war on terror and detainees.  Such a bold move, now that the Big Lie ship has already sailed and made it around the world 80 million times.  I guess their work is done. 

Ron Paul’s supporters outnumbered McCain’s at the Nevada GOP state convention, so the party leaders there just shut the whole thing down.  Oh, they said the contract for the meeting room had expired, but we all know the real reason.  How sad is it that McCain can’t even organize enough of his supporters in Nevada?  Not that I care or anything. 

Finally, here’s some science for us to chew on:  religion is a figment of our imagination.  Gee, ya think?  How are we going to explain the praying mantises to the chil’ren?
